The Partners have for a number of years given the more junior members of the Robinson Low Francis team an opportunity to be heard by supporting their participation in their own new business ideas forum called the Youth Think Tank (YTT). The group meets quarterly and is supported by a nominated Partner link who reports their progress and ideas directly into the Executive and Partners meetings.
Participants are encouraged to apply for membership of the group and are generally nominated by their local managing Partners. The group size fluctuates but usually contains between five and eight members who participate for anything up to three years. Membership is reviewed every six months, and the regular introduction of new and enthusiastic members with fresh ideas has resulted in the implementation of a number of excellent initiatives.
The YTT has previously generated the roll out of the following across the business:
• Fair Trade procurement
• Recycling methods
• Recruitment presentations
• Knowledge sharing libraries
• New starter packs.
The Partners continue to support the belief that there needs to be an opportunity for the younger team members to contribute to the advancement of the business. The empowerment of this group has delivered genuine benefits to the business as well as developing the confidence and abilities of the participants.
