Over recent years we have seen this sector become prevalent, especially given the recent planning initiatives by Local Authorities. One view is that mixed use developments with a housing component are useful in the revitalisation of town centre environments. These developments meet many demands including promoting the feeling of ‘community living’ with local amenities and activities in close proximity, and encouragement of sustainable modes of transport.
