Launch of the First DW Sports Fitness Health Clubs
11 January 2010Property and construction consultancy Robinson Low Francis (RLF) has been appointed as the sole quantity surveyor for the capital expansion works programme to deliver state of the art Health & Fitness Clubs for DW Sports Fitness. One of the first clubs to be open under this new programme of works is in Milton Keynes. Other contracts have been secured for a further five new and one refurbishment health club across the UK.
DW Sports Fitness - the new business venture for the Wigan Athletic FC Chairman David Whelan - bought 53 fitness clubs with retail stores from JJB Sports in a deal announced earlier in 2009 and these fitness clubs will be the country’s first newly fitted out clubs under the new brand.
With each project representing a £3m investment by DW Sports Fitness along with future plans for additional sites, RLF is responsible for the entire pre and post contract quantity surveying work for all seven locations, including Milton Keynes, Canterbury, Poole, Tunstall, Carlisle, Trafford and Bangor, Northern Ireland.
