Landmark Housing Development Launches in Hatfield

12 June 2009

A new mixed-use housing development – The Forum – has opened in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, at the original site of the Forum Theatre on Lemsford Road. The value of the project is approximately £9 million.

Property and construction consultant Robinson Low Francis (RLF) project managed the development. This included costing all the financial elements of the project, building surveying and handling construction design & management (CDM) coordination.

The Forum fulfils the social housing requirements for the regeneration of Hatfield Town Centre. As a housing site it provides 84 mixed tenure units, which comprises social rented, key-worker rented and shared ownership for residents as part of the Metropolitan Housing Trust social development programme.

Project manager Karen Davis, from RLF, commented “This was a great challenge for us to undertake as project managers. We are proud to be part of a development that helps to regenerate the community and provide quality housing given the current economic climate.”

Also involved in the project were architect PRP, structural engineer Campbell Reith Hill and contractor Mansell plc.
