Zero carbon by 2016

Government is pushing the sector with a target that from 2016 all new schools will be zero carbon. This challenge cannot be underestimated: there is still confusion about the definition of zero carbon and clarity from government is urgently required.

Roughly speaking, a building will be zero carbon if - after taking account of carbon emissions from space heating, ventilation, hot water, fixed lighting and expected energy use from appliances, and taking in to account its energy imports and exports - it has net zero carbon emissions over the course of a year.RLF Management Consultants has been founded by a group of dedicated professionals to provide the high levels of service synonymous with RLF.
