Trainees

RLF offer Trainee Cost Management/Quantity Surveyor opportunities for those who wish to pursue an apprenticeship to obtain a vocational degree.

Initially, you would spend 4 days in the office along with studying on day release at a college or university accredited by RICS, where you would be expected to complete a construction related undergraduate qualification and follow a training programme to achieve RICS professional qualification.

You can join us at any time on completion of your GCSEs, A Levels (Scottish equivalent) or HND/HNC/NVQ.

If you join us after A-levels, you would study a RICS accredited degree part-time on a day-release basis. This would typically take 5 years to complete.  In the final year of your degree, you would be eligible to join our Graduate Development Scheme, with the aim of sitting your APC (Assessment of Professional Competence) 2 years later.

During your time at RLF, you will gain a full understanding and knowledge of key elements such as measuring areas for a cost plan, valuations, contract documents and design & management values.  Our trainee programme is hugely beneficial as it’s a great way to earn a living whilst learning.
