Project Update: School of Law and Social Justice, University of Liverpool
RLF is providing Cost Management services for the design and construction of the consolidated School of Law and Social Justice for the University of Liverpool.
The major refurbishment of the existing Cypress Building, which was taken back to its original concrete shell to facilitate the development of this major university facility, together with the provision of a multi-storey extension in the form of a central atrium. Both the existing building and the new extension were clad in a matching cladding system, which also included large areas of glazed walls to create a much-enhanced cohesive external and internal appearance.
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is currently based on the University of Liverpool’s south campus, which is home to many historically significant buildings. Over the past few years, the University has invested in the south campus to preserve these buildings and also to offer the very best facilities for students and staff. The renovation and extension of the Cypress Building is an important part of the south campus renovation programme and will house the School of Law and Social Justice.
The building will house a large atrium, social and breakout spaces, a multi-purpose event space and a new café facility.
